I am Hayley, the creator of Hayley Egan Jewellery. Being born into a family of artists and makers, naturally a creative career was already written in the stars. I drew much inspiration from my upbringing and my family. All these elements came together 15 years ago when I sculpted the first Hayley Egan Jewelry pendant. For many years now Hayley Egan Jewelry has been my love child, running side by side with my main operation being large scale sculpting. Today, myself, along with my business partner (and hubby) Edgar, are excited to finally have our own online store and share all this shiny goodness with you.
A little bit of background. I am an island girl at heart. Australian born but raised from infancy on the shores of a pacific island called Tongatapu and that is where I draw much of my inspiration from when I am creating. Professionally I am an accomplished Australian film industry sculptor, having spent 11 years working for people like Baz Lurman, Cathryn Martin, Ridley Scott (to drop a few names!). In the last 10 years I’ve brought my techniques from film work to people's homes, creating a line of interior sculptural installations and chandeliers. I'm always creating, I’m always in my studio with my hands covered in clay or wax or paint. When choosing themes, I always look to nature... and the ocean.
Having sold my Tongan themed jewelry in a boutique shop in Tonga for the last 15 years, I have since created this extended hand sculpted range which is very close to my heart (literally! I’m wearing some right now!) These pieces are inspired by my life by the sea, my love of creatures (both real and fantasy) and my love of tiny detail... and precious little things.
In this exciting new chapter for Hayley Egan Jewelry, We aim to continue to extend our precious hand sculpted range (creating new designs as we speak!) and extend our global reach to bring the sentiment, meaning and joy that these pretty little works of art hold, to people that are looking for that perfect gift, that perfect self-splurge, that perfect keepsake.
